Reflections on 2k13 Central Event 1 - Part 3

RT5

After the first ever central RT5 event, the verdict is in that the new RT5 division is an absolute hit! Players and coaches alike are thankful that the league recognized the need for this divisional bridge into Xball and addressed it.

Petrolia Pirates left their mark at central event 1 winning all 3 of their matches while managing a +/- of 10. Codrington Chaos and Vanier Outbreak are also looking promising this season, with their only losses being to the leading Pirates crew. While these three teams are looking strong for the remainder of the season, I do expect to see a fair bit of change in the RT5 standings based on the fact that some teams have only played 3 matches while others have played 5.

CX4

Even the CX4 division has undergone some changes this year. Their typical season was made up of 5 events but this year, like all of the other divisions, they only have 3. Additionally, this division seems to be made up of much younger talent than in years past.

Making their CXBL debut, Brantford Painting Crew, managed to come out of event 1 leading the CX4 division. This squad has had a lot of success in local events under the name Brantford Stealth and is made up of dedicated players and a solid support and coaching staff. I suspect that we will see continued success for this group of up and coming talent.

Hamilton Havoc, a known name in the CX4 division, made up of a new roster of players will have to work hard this season to defend their 2012 NAX title but are well on their way to finishing near the top with a current standing of second place.

Rounding out the bottom of the CX4 pack is new team Wawa Warthogs who will have to make some improvements if they hope to change their position in the standings.

I wish all teams some productive practices as you prepare for next weekend’s event in Ottawa! Border Battle is going to be a blast!

Signing off,
The Paintball Wife
