Central MXL, RXL, and RT5 predictions for Border Battle

Well, I've gone ahead and done my best to formulate some predictions for MXL, RXL, and RT5. Read on and feel free to comment with your own thoughts!

MXL

Milton Mutiny VS. Hespeler Hooligans

Trusting that Hooligans have taken the opportunity to smooth out the kinks from Central Event 1, this match is theirs. Mutiny won’t go down easy though. This should be a battle right to the last seconds of the match. Hespeler needs to be careful though! If they get into penalty trouble and have repeats of some of the sloppy breakouts we saw at E1, Milton will steal away with this match.

Mississauga Hate VS. Huntsville Predators

Ah yes, the two teams currently tied in points near the top of the MXL bracket. This will be a high pressure match that is a thriller for the spectators. Hate will push hard but it will be the experienced Predators who come through with the win.

Brooklin Mafia VS. Georgina Grizzlies

There’s no question as to what will happen this match where the leading team faces the weakest link. Grizzlies aren’t going to like the painful outcome of this match. Mafia will take this and I’m going to say they finish the match leading by a minimum of 10 points.

Sarnia Sabres VS. St. Catherine’s Savages

Theoretically, based on current standings, these two teams should be well matched. I tried jumping on the Sabres band wagon…but it didn’t go far. So for Border Battle, my bets are on Savages with a close win.

Huntsville Predators VS. Milton Mutiny

Milton is going to be pushing hard this event in an effort to prove their worth as an MXL team. That being said, I am 100% confident that Predators will take this match. The question is by how much. I see this match ending with Huntsville up by 8.

Georgina Grizzlies VS. Mississauga Hate

I really believe that Hate proved themselves at Central Event 1 and I trust that they are going to continue forging ahead with that same aggressiveness. Grizzlies will have another painful loss here with Hate coming out on top by 8 points.

RXL

Niagara Rampage VS. Vaughn Vipers

Some of you may have noticed that many of the Vaughn players have previous CXBL and MXL experience as Woodstock Semper Fi. For that reason, you may be tempted to give them the win over Rampage. However, Niagara’s mix of fresh talent and experienced RXL players makes for a solid blend which I believe will help them to pull through with a comfortable win.

Dundas Demolition VS. Joyceville Hustlers

Joyceville has already shown their strength this season and Dundas is currently sealing their position as a middle-of-the-pack team. That being said, I expect Hustlers to come through with a 5 point win.

Guelph Silence VS. King City Royals

These are the two teams currently trailing the RXL standings.  While it is the Royals who are ahead in points, I believe Silence will come through and surpass them this event. If they have taken the opportunity to learn from their mistakes at Central Event 1, and have pushed themselves at practice, I believe Silence will take a close 2 point win.

Essex Distortion VS. Niagara Rampage

This will be a fantastic match for both the players and their fans! Distortion has had a rocking season so far and I don’t expect that to stop anytime soon. They will take the win here in a 8-5 match.

Brockville Beast Mode VS. Joyceville Hustlers

I expect Hustlers to win by a minimum of 4 points this match.

Dundas Demolition VS. Vaughn Vipers

Demolition may be sitting in the middle in terms of standings but they are an incredibly hard working group of players who have given their all at practices following Central Event 1. For this reason, I suspect they will come out ahead by a handful.

Essex Distortion VS. Guelph Silence

Sorry Guelph but I do believe that it will be Distortion with an 8 point win here.

Brockville Beast Mode VS. King City Royals

Beast Mode will sweep in to take the win finishing with a 9-5 score.

RT5

Making predictions for RT5 feels a little bit like I am shooting in the dark but based on the standings and last event’s point spreads, I’ve done my best.

Petrolia Pirates VS. Mount Hope Bedlam

This is the leading team fighting against the team currently in last place. I give Petrolia a 5-0 win over Bedlam.

Oakville Avengers VS. Vanier Outbreak

I’ll give this one to Outbreak with a score of 5-2.

Owen Sound Extreme VS. Petrolia Pirates

Pirates will lead this match 5-2.

Ajax Lockdown VS. Keswick Bombers

Lockdown will step up their game but not enough to pull through with the win. Bombers will take this match 4-3.

Codrington Chaos VS. Mount Hope Bedlam

Chaos will scoop up a 3 point lead with a 4-1 score.

Keswick Bombers VS. Vanier Outbreak

Keswick will suffer a 5-1 loss to Outbreak this match.

Ajax Lockdown VS. Mount Hope Bedlam

Lockdown has put in the work to earn them a comfortable 5-2 win.

Owen Sound Extreme VS. Vanier Outbreak

Extreme will be on the losing end of a 4-2 match.

Codrington Chaos VS. Oakville Avengers

I see Codrington leading 4-2 as Avengers push hard to tighten up their game.

Keswick Bombers VS. Petrolia Pirates

Petrolia will maintain their streak with a 5-1 win.
